Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre
100 % Safe. Accurate. Reliable

At the Tube 2016, Poppe + Potthoff (Hall 03, Stand B01) will be focusing on its extended product range in precision tubing.

Countdown to the Tube 2016

From April 4-8, 2016, the Tube, the world's most important trade fair for the Pipe and Tube processing industry will be taking place in Düsseldorf for the 15th time. More than 1,200 exhibitors will be showing their skills from tube manufacturing to treatment and processing to trading.

Poppe + Potthoff will also be presenting its latest advancements here. The company has always been well-known in the market for the production of seamless precision tubes. Just recently however, welded drawn tubes have been added to the delivery program.

In addition, the range of dimensions has been expanded. The new maximum outer diameter is 100 mm; the wall thickness may be up to 11 mm. The sales team and technicians at Poppe + Potthoff provide advice and support and are looking forward to welcoming customers at booth B01 in hall 03.

In addition to seamless precision tubes, Poppe + Potthoff now also offers welded drawn tubes.

New: Welded drawn tubes

Poppe + Potthoff has extended its product range. "As a complement to our seamless steel tubes according to DIN EN 10305-1, we now also offer welded drawn tubes according to DIN EN 10305-2," explains Thorsten Ellersiek, Head of Sales at Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre GmbH. "Hence, our offering is getting even more versatile and attractive for customers and new prospects", he adds.

Poppe + Potthoff produces welded drawn tubes with an outer diameter of 1.50 mm to 50.00 mm and with wall thicknesses of 0.5 mm to 4.5 mm. As materials, steel alloys E195, E235, E275 and E355 are available; others will be added to the program upon customer request.

In addition to the recently completed extension of dimensions in the seamless pipe range to an outer diameter of up to 100 mm, this is another fundamental expansion of the product spectrum. Poppe + Potthoff will be happy to provide further information on both additions, for example during the fair Tube in Düsseldorf (April 4-8, 2016) in hall 03, stand B01.

The new special profile manufactured by Poppe + Potthoff is round on the inside and has four flat surfaces on the outside.

Special profiles for new solutions

The trend towards special profiles is further being promoted by Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre GmbH. The gained experiences and the employees’ special expertise continuously enable new ideas and solutions for customers.

The most recent example of the innovative strength of Poppe + Potthoff is a tube which is round on the inside and has flat surfaces on the outside. In this special geometrical form, the walls of the opposing surfaces are considerably thinner than those of the opposing arches.

"Realizing the new profile in highest precision was an interesting challenge," says Bengt-Henning Maas, CEO of Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre. "The task was to draw and process the tubes safely complying with the extremely tight client specifications regarding tolerances and roughness."

The product’s implementation phase has already been completed successfully and series production has begun. Poppe + Potthoff manufactures this special tube as part of a product family in several sizes and variations.

Over hill and dale through the Teutoburg Forest: P+P employees participated successfully in the Böckstiegellauf 2015.

Sporting together with success

Regularly, employees from all departments at Poppe + Potthoff meet for doing sports. In the summer months, they walk and jog together in the nature of the Teutoburg Forest. During the winter months, some of the P + P-athletes take fitness classes, e.g. to strengthen the back muscles, while a core running team continues to go jogging together even during the dark season.

Thereby, the Böckstiegellauf in Werther is a traditional highlight. This popular race with more than 1,500 participants is well known far beyond the city’s borders and attracts both amateurs and professional runners. In the most beautiful late summer weather, the demanding track with several hundred altitude meters to overcome has been mastered successfully by six runners from the tube plant on the 18 km and 10 km route as well as by two walkers.

With an excellent time under 1:29 hours for the 18 km distance, the Head of Electrical Maintenance, Manuel Arens, was the best P + P-athlete, closely followed by David Thalau from the Department of Non-destructive Testing and Approval. These successes have sparked the desire for more: the next joint running and walking events have already been firmly envisaged.
